Not long ago, we traveled to the beautiful Greek island of Zakynthos. A sunny destination where you can also enjoy nature, culture and various activities. If you are looking for the ideal hotel to stay at, we highly recommend Atlantica Eleon Grand Resort. We’ll tell you about the different facilities in this article and why this is the ideal family hotel in Zakynthos.
Atlantica Hotel Group
The Atlantica Eleon Grand Resort is part of the Atlantica Hotel Group. Atlantica Hotels and Resorts has hotels in several countries, including Greece (Corfu, Crete, Kos, Rhodes and Zakynthos), Cyprus and Egypt. You can recognize them by their excellent service and comfortable, modern hotels. This hotel group has both Adults Only and family hotels available and is mainly betting on All-inclusive formulas.
Eleon Grand Resort
The Atlantica Eleon Grand Resort is located in the quiet Tragaki in the East of Zakynthos. Tsilivi is a charming village nearby where you can find nice souvenir stores and cozy, Greek restaurants. Just a stone’s throw away you are from the airport, Zakynthos town and the bustling resort of Laganas Beach. So there is plenty to do in the (spacious) surroundings of the hotel. The island of Zakynthos is not large anyway and after a good hour’s drive you go from one side to the other. The famous tourist attraction Shipwreck Beach is also not far away and can be visited thanks to a (half) day trip.
Facilities
The Eleon Grand Hotel has a range of facilities. This five-star all inclusive resort features spacious (family) rooms with balcony or terrace. You can also opt for a room with private pool or a room with sea view. There are a total of four swimming pools, one of which has four impressive water slides. Fun guaranteed! If you do like to rest and relax, you can seek out the spa. Or can it be a little more active? Then you can entertain yourself on the tennis court or in the gym. This hotel also has its own store. So you don’t have to go far to buy nice souvenirs or a little extra.
There is also a huge selection of food and drink. With a total of six restaurants and bars, you can eat and drink around the clock here. The all-inclusive formula gives value for money. The food is always taken care of, extensive and delicious. Ranging from very traditional dishes to classics that everyone likes. There is also an adapted menu for the little ones. If you do want to eat something more exclusive, we recommend dining at least once at Neromylos A La Carte restaurant located on the beach. A very romantic setting!
Good to know: Measures concerning Covid-19 are always taken into account. At the buffet, for example, you must wear gloves and a mouth mask, similarly in indoor common areas, and hand gel is available everywhere. You’ll even receive a mouth mask, hand gel and gloves as a gift upon arrival.
Family hotel
The Eleon Grand Resort caters primarily to families. You immediately notice that children are very welcome here. There is a special children’s buffet with adapted dishes, there are several swimming and playing pools, there is a Kids Club where the kids can be taken care of and there is evening entertainment for young and old. The evening entertainment is varied and given by a sweet, enthusiastic animation team such that the children will not get bored easily. Really everything is done to give the children such a pleasant stay (and the parents too, of course!).
Our stay
Although this is not an Adults Only but rather a hotel aimed at families, we had a very pleasant stay. Usually we choose Adults Only hotels but here you have so much space and choice in terms of relaxation that as a young adult without children you are not “bothered” by children playing. I would even dare to say that this hotel is ideal for couples and families with (young) children. Of course, additional activities are offered for children (as well as adults) so it’s a perfect vacation destination for families. Therefore, we definitely recommend the hotel to people who want to enjoy their vacation with children undisturbed. The kids will love it here too and they are in excellent hands.
